Hello all! :)

Well today I petitioned for my new bunny, she is 6 weeks old now, so i'll wait for two more weeks until i bring her home from the shelter.
I had 2 giants before (solo), both flemish (white and grey, and black and grey).

I'm pretty sure that Butterfly is a checkered giant or some combo:

She has a sweet personality, she is hand-fed because her mom died, and i'll be keeping her alone. During the week in my flat, on weekend in my families' garden...
Any advice with her?

Thank you :)

Jazzie

Probably not a Checkered Giant...she is black otter in color and looks to be a regular broken variety, not a marked breed. Do you have a photo of either of the parents? If I'm reading the proportions of the bunny to blanket and cage correctly, I'd guess she will be a medium size at maturity.

Jazzie, couldn't tell you what breed but love the colouring and those ears are so gorgeeeeous. she's a real cutie. She is quite big for 6 weeks so looks like she'll be bigger than average. Will love keeping up with her as she grows.

OakRidgeRabbits - thank you for your input! Sadly no, she was saved from a bunny meat-breeder, so, umm, her parents aren't alive. Her coat seems kind of fluffy for a checkered giant. Approx. she will be between 4-5 kilograms by maturity.

Chrisdoc - she was absolutely a love-at-first-sight for me too :) Especially her ears...

Thank you, have a nice evening :)
