My rabbit is a little older than 2 years, she is a dwarf, and hasn't had any serious problems at all. She has not been eating recently that I can tell from her pellets. When I give her carrots or lettuce, she chews them up into tiny little pieces, and I can't tell if she is really eating it at all. I have not seen her drink much water..and there is little to no poop in her box. She had a wet nose a few days ago, but it went away. She still comes out of her cage and hops around though. Can anybody tell me what is wrong with her or what I should do??
Thank you very much.

How long has this been happening?

Is her mouth wet at all?

It sounds like she has dental problems, or that's what it probably started out as. Unfortunately not easting leads to bigger problems.

You're going to have to make sure she eats and drinks, ASAP.

Don’t think that because she’s active she’s not sick. Once they show signs, they’re REALLY sick.

For the immediate future, you should can get some Pedialyte infant electrolyte replacement formula, Gatorade or even a little fruit juice flavored water. She needs hydration and few calories ASAP to ward off liver disease from the anorexia. Give her a bit at a time with a feeding syringe or squeeze bottle.

Is she eating pellets? Can you soak them in water and try and make a 'slurry' and feed her that?

Also try canned pumpkin. It can be a life saver.

More soon! This is serious, sorry to say. They can't not eat and poop.

Keep her warm.

Sas is right. Not eating can be a sign of other issues, because the pain or discomfort of another illness can make a rabbit not want to eat, which makes the GI tract just shut down. Could you please answer the questions listed on the link below, especially whether she's kept inside or outside. If she's kept outside, she could be overheating (the wet nose, etc).

Hi. Thank you very much for the reply. She lives inside in a hutch. She has been eating hay and some carrots. Usually she eats pellets, but she doesn't seem to want those. So I am going to take her to the vet, since she is still not pooping. She did pee though. Thanks again.

That's the best thing you can do. Good luck at the vet, please let us know how she makes out.

It could be a number of things. But what I think it is is either she has dental issues or GI stasis. The vet will be able to tell.

Dwarf rabbits can have dental issues. They may not eat if their teeth are bothering them.

I hope that your bunny is okay
