i got a rabbit a couple weeks ago and she had babies yesterday. i went to check on them this morning and one of the babies had a piece of the cotton i had put in the box wrapped around its foot. I took it in the house cut it off but the little foot is still purple! will it be ok? what should i do?! i thought putting the cotton in would be good. since she didnt pull fur.

I don't know that there is anything you can do but wait and see. I would suggest taking the cotton out, as anything with strings will cause these kind of problems, and replace it. You can either try and pull some fur from the mom's belly area(it might still be loose enough to pull since she only had them yesterday), or go to a pet store and get the artificial stuff used for nest building.

I used the nesting material from the pet store, I hope the foot will be okay, the blood circulation got cut off, it should come back to normal unless it was like that too long, you may have to take the baby to a vet if it gets worse.

should you ever have a doe who doesn't pull sufficient fur you can pull it from her yourself. From the chest area works really well. :)

Agreed - whatever damage has been done, has been done. All you can do now is monitor - if the leg gets worse (it will feel cold) you will have to react quickly and get the baby to the vet, however if it gets better and stays warm you should be fine.
