Ok...

I dunno what is going on but for two days now my eyes have been burning. I went to the bathroom and while I was there I checked on my eye to make sure it wasn't red or anything. Um...

My left cheek is blue. It looks like someone punched me out. My lips and fingernails are also blue andI have red splotches on my hands. Doc told me the blue lips was from lack of oxygen and my lungs haven't been ok for months.

So now I have a new inhaler named Advair. I am using that as two puffs twice a day. But with all the different meds I have been on I cannot for the life of me remember how much Salbutamol (ventolin - blue inhaler) I am allowed to take. I have a 100 mcg dose inhaler (I asked for the reduction myself)

I really need to avoid the hospital as I will be hospitalized if I go. Any ideas? the pharmacy is closed so I cannot ask.

You can call the hospital emergency room for advice. There is no fee and unless you are under extreme duress they cannot force you to come in.

If you start being unable to breathe or show signs of faintness you can actually call for an ambulance. Once the crew gets to you you could get theoxygen treatment and then refuse transport (there would be release papers to sign) but you'd most likely be billed for a transport anyway.

I'm not real happy with either of those suggestions, personally. I think you should go to the ER.

Are you alone right now?

Hmmm

My BP just read at 118/49.I think my machine is off :?Lol. Heart rate is 121. I will wait a bitbefore taking the meds. :?I'm gonna go steam myself and get my lungs to clear a bit. Yeah I'm alone :)But no worries, not gonna take too many chances.

Do you regularly have problems with your blood oxygen levels? The Buteyko Breathing Technique may be something worth looking into if so.

If you can't get your levels up soon you may want to get in touch with someone to come over - or something. It would be much better than being alone, just to be on the safe side.

Thanks.

Yeah I have some trouble with my blood pressure (usually high though) but I get severe palpitations (160)for which I have been hospitalized. I have some issues with my lungs that are still problematic. It's back up to 117/76 so that's a relief. My Peak Flow is at 305 so not bad though I know I am too wheezy still. Anyway, doing the inhaler treatment now so it'll pass. Might cheat and take some Combivent :p

Suggestion from my vitamin-savvy husband:

Take a MAD amount of Vitamin E daily...as in 2000 IU daily. It oxygenates the blood.

Hope that helps! :D

Hugs!

I'm sorry you're not feeling well. I have asthma, too.

Do you like to drink tea? I've found that drinkiing hot tea helps my wheezing to subside.Something in itrelaxes the bronchial passages. The steam probably helps, too.

I hope you feel better soon.

Are you on BP medicine? could that be why your pressure (diastolic) is low?

I would probably go to the ER and have myself checked. Could be an issue with the BP and your asthma meds.

Thanks.

No not onBP meds but on beta blockers, contraceptive (for pain), anti-inflammatory meds, migraine pain relief, migraine prevention treatment, nasal spray, and asthma meds. Throw in some cortisone in there since I get some often and voila...

All in all I have 12 meds to carrywith me at all times. On those 12, there are 3 not taken daily.

Don'twonder why my body is messed :pI got fed up and called my doc andI am hoping to get rid of ALL those that I can live without. Though my docs gave me these despite my not liking the idea. :?Problem is, you start with one med, and then you need another to counter the side effects... And that's how you end up like me. I'm about to pull a major fit at the doc's :biggrin2:
