Hello! Just adopted our first bunny today. His name is Gabriel (However, my daughter has dubbed him "Thumper"). I have no idea what breed he is, hoping someone can help figure that out from the pictures. He's an indoor bunny with an entire room to himself! Looking forward to reading and sharing some stories here!

I thought mix too. The adoption paper said "purebreed" but I can't find anything he looks like! He is an absolute dream though. We got all set up and I went in and sat with him while my wife (who will probably also be posting under this account) went and got some essentials (He had already been neutered and we actually got to take him home with us on the spot!) and I just lay there browsing the internet on my phone and letting him explore. He came up to me almost immediately, nudged my leg a few times then proceeded to bite on my jeans! I wish I'd read the Info kit the HS sent home with us before he did that. From what it says that means he wanted petted! He is so friendly and outgoing it's amazing. I was expecting a long, somewhat drawn out ordeal in getting him used to us, and especially our 3 year old daughter, but he just went right up to her and demanded to be petted!

Welcome to the forum. Perhaps you could compromise on the name & make Thumper his last name [or middle name if your family name is his last name, lol.

Nipping [a real bite would be bloody] is to be discouraged by yelping. Rabbits need to understand we don't have the protective hair they do & it hurts. There is lots more information in the library section.

Welcome!:bouquet: Gabriel is adorable. Good luck with him and enjoy this great community!:sunshine:
