Hello I'm Haley from KY. I'm thinking about getting a bunny. I need a pet that is quiet because I live in an apartmet. I joined this forum to get some information on rabbits to see if it is the right pet for me.

I'll be getting pictures to pick out my bunny from someone via email. I may post them to see what you guys think.

I'd recommend doing some reading. Bunnies are fairly quiet, but they will be more work than a dog or cat. Each has it's own rewards--we certainly do love our bunnies.

I have been reading up on them. One reason I joined this forum to get information.

The only problem I have is I'm a nurse and I work 7p-7a 3 days a week and I sleep during the day until about 2.

Is that a problem? Will my bunny be okay when I am working?
My husband works 1-10 5 days a week too so he would be there on his days off.

What do you think?

I don't think your work schedule would bea problem. Sounds like you would be have plenty of time during the rest of the week to provide attention to your bun.Just develop adaily routine checking food, water etc., talking to them,pets etc.Bunny's like routine.

Bunny's are terrific companions.

Hi Haley! Welcome to RO..

Have you had pets in the past? Just trying to figure out how much time your both thinking you might have to give to a bunny. Their very social and do like alot of attention (brings out the best in them and their SO much fun to watch).

Sounds like your 2 schedules would over-lap and the bun would get the attention they need (kinda a cross between cats and dogs - you don't walk a cat, but buns do like to be the center of attention like a dog).

Have you checked to see who in Kentucky is on this site? They might know of or work at/run a bun rescue - which then could help you find just the right bunny for you both..
