Hello,
I'm new and thought I would introduce myself and my bunnies.
I have a male rabbit named Thumper (aka Chipper Shredder, Tumpy, Tump Tump, or just Tumps). I'm not sure of his breed as he was dumped last Feb. at the stable where I was keeping my horses. Some of the stable workers wanted to keep him, but the manager said no. He ended up coming down with the snuffles to I took him to the vet and brought him home to be treated. And well he just kinda stayed.
He's turned out to be such a sweet heart. He comes when I call his name and loves to rub his chin on me.
I just added another addition to my bunny herd of one today - a 1 yr old male lionhead named Ponyboy, I think he may be a tortoise shell?. I responded to an free ad and told the person I'd take him, sight unseen. When I picked the poor guy up he had no water in his cage, his cage was filthy, he barely had any food and his nails were extremely long.
Once we got home I let him out of his cage to get some exercise while I cleaned, scrubbed and disinfected his cage. Then I set him up with fresh bedding, a new litter box that I bought for him (he had pretty much eaten/demolished the one he had), a mineral block and fresh food/water. He's come around quite a bit and has started coming to see me when I go up to his cage. He's such a little cutie.
I'm planning to come up with a new name for him, PonyBoy was the name he came with.
A little about me - I'm an animal lover and have done animal rescue for most of my life - my mom was involved in animal rescue while I was growing up and was one of the founders of our local rescue society.
I have 4 horses, various birds, and 4 dogs.
