Hi! My name is Emily. I have been reading about bunnies and the different breeds and care for the past couple months, and just got my first bunny from a breeder a few weeks ago. He is a Mini Rex (opal) named Oliver. A week later, I found out the person who was taking his brother back out of it, so now I have 2. Sebastian is White with black spots. They were born June 1st so they are still youngens.

Currently they are kept in a smaller cage, but i am in the process of converting a large cage I have into a home for them. The cage is actually a double story Ferret Nation cage that I am modifying for them. I will post pictures when I get it finished. I will also post pictures of my boys when I can. I am glad I found this forum for new ideas and info!:D

I originally said i was going to use a ferret nation I have, but I think I may go with a NIC cage plan:)

:helloand :welcome1to RabbitsOnline, Emily. I am glad you found the site. RO is a very active, friendly and helpful website devoted to rabbits and their slaves.

Here are some good links to areas of the site you might find interesting, the Library section, full of good reference info, Bunny Blog, where you can keep everyone up to date on your bunny and your life as a bunny slave and if you bunny would like to ask questions of other buns the Bunny Chat is the spot to be. The regional forum is a good way to find a rabbit savvy vet or to post places where you get some of your supplies for your bun etc. For the lighter side and to give you a chuckle or two stop by the go to the Let Your Hare Down section for anything but bunny's.

You don't have to say what city your in but if you could update your profile with an areayour in, may be likeNorth west Ohio etc, that would help others provide you with info that may help you and your bunny.

If you would like to post pictures in your post this link How to put photo's in your posts will help explain that.

I hope I didn't overwhelm you with info. This is a wonderful site and I look forward to seeing pictures of your buns and stories about them.

Dave

:) Welcome to the site. When your boys are older you're going to want to seperate them once fighting starts, or humping, and have them nuetered. If you get them nuetered without having them seperated to long the re-bonding process should ideally be a lot faster and easier. Can't wait to see pictures of your boys!

 roxy and hartleybun say 'hi' to their mini cousins. looking forward to pics!

brenda - fuzz16 - makes an excellent point. my addition would be to check their sex - lots of bunnies get a visit from the gender fairy and you wouldnt want the patter of tiny paws;)

Thank you for the advice. I am definatly going to get them checked. I am loving my bunnies, but really don't need to add anymore to the mix.:) And, I have been told neutering is a good option, so i plan to do that in the future as well. BTW, what age do you usually neuter bunnies?

Welcome to the forum. 4-6 months is the norm for neutering. I would start looking into vets, the cost varies a lot and so does the knowledge level and if they have ever done a bunny b4. Where r u from Emily???
