Hey guys,
I'm from Sydney, bit of my rabbit background is that my sister bought a Mini Lop named LeeHom about 5 months ago, but she wasnt taking as good a care of it as i would have liked so i pretty much started taking care of it and playing with it everyday and really started enjoying rabbits as pets.
My sister however is very adament the rabbit is still hers, so i went and bought a rabbit i can play with more freely myself, i chose a Netherland Dwarf (named Racer), i am still not sure how good a breed choice this was as although its only been 1 week, Racer isnt anywhere near as affectionate as LeeHom is. I'm hoping this will change over time. People keep telling me that Nethies are never as affectionate and much more skittish, yet breeders i've spoken to say that this is not true and that they make great companions.
Only time will tell and i'll just have to handle Racer as much as possible and be patient to gain his trust!
LeeHom is very intelligent and will follow me around the house, Racer has just started eating out of my hands and climbing over me and sniffing my face instead of running away.
My Netherland Dwarf - Racer! (8.5 weeks old)
And the Mini Lop - LeeHom! (5 months old)
She doesn't look as cute as Racer but she's awesome!
