hello hello!

Hi!

I am new here.... I was referred by people on Goosemoose pet portal, and told that this was the place to go if you are a bunny lover...

I am fairly new to bunnies, I got a 8-week old bun last May, and named him Bailey. I spent all summer with him, and then had to go away to college, where he couldn't come with me.

. My mom took over care of him, and under supervision took excellent care of my bunny-boy while I was away, bringing him to the vet, feeding him organic fresh greens, and cuddling. Due to traveling and school, I was only just able to come home yesterday, and so Bailey hasn't seen me in 7 months! I want to re-bond with him, and I am starting slowly: letting him come to me and spending some time with him while he explores... This morning he hopped all over me while I was lying in bed and allowed me to cuddle with him for a bit.

I really missed him, and it feels good to be back home! (We live in RI) Any suggestions on re-bonding would be lovely! Thanks!

Once I take some new ones and figure out how to load pictures I will show the Bailey-boy.... I also could use help figuring out the breed....

:welcome1! whoever referred you was right, this is the place to be if you love bunnies!

it's too bad you had to leave Bailey, i'd flip if i had to leave Jamie at home(he even comes to grandma's with us-he's a really good traveler, surprisingly:tongue!). it's great that he's letting you cuddle him, i hope you two re-bond really fast! figuring out the breed shouldn't be a problem, a quick post in the rabbitry and show room forum will get you lots of opinions on breed or mix of breeds:dude:!
i can't wait to see pictures of his cute little self!

I look forward to seeing some pictures of Bailey. There are a lot of experienced people on this forum and we can help give you an idea of him. Can't wait to hear more about him.

Welcome to RO! As far as bonding - I've found tha the buns favorite treat held out to come to you, makes a great "olive branch" that, and just sitting with them for what could bea few hours (each night mind you) so that they get used to you - works (do study at that time, take your laptop, phone,etc...

How did your Mother bond w/ the Bailey? love the name, by the way..
