A friend of mine gave me this forum url. I do not have rabbits at this point. I recently lost Spiderman after having him for 7 years. He was an English Lop that had almost 2" amputated from one ear right after I bought him from his previous owner. He had circulation problems that affected his ears greatly. I have toyed with the idea of eventually having a rabbitry. This would not be just a hobby nor would it be just a business. I am passionant about my pets but would also like to begin to breed and show some of my future rabbits. Some of my early questions here will be about how to have a rabbitry in the proper sense without just having rabbits and breeding them. I have sent my money for the ARBA membership but other than that I do not have a clue what to do. Should I just make up a name and call myself that or do I have to register somewhere?

Hi there and welcome to RO!

Im so sorry to hear about the loss of your sweet boy. English lops are amazing. We have two members who each had a very special English lop, and both lost them in the past few months. They are so beautiful and expressive with those long ears!

Im not quite sure about your rabbitry questions, but I know joining ARBA is the right first step. Probably a lot of research on the breed you would like to get started with is your best option and/or finding a mentor breeder to help you in your area. These are questions our other breeders can help you with, so feel free to post them in the rabbitry area.

Again, welcome!

Hi!!! Welcome. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. :( It is terribly difficult and we all know your pain.

Hello and Welcome!

This is a great forum to come to if you love rabbits and if you are considering showing and possibly breeding them. It's definitely not something to jump into- I am glad you are doing your research before hand. Check out the Rabbitry section- I am one of the Moderators of that area. We have some great people who are breeders and very active in showing their rabbits.

Definitely go ahead and join ARBA! You will get a wonderful guidebook along with your membership when you join. Go to www.arba.net to become a member.

Welcome to RO!

I am so sorry to hear you lost Spiderman... :tears2: I have lost two bunnies this year, it's so hard. :tears2:

Who gave you our address? Are they a member here? :)

What breed would you be interested in breeding? Good luck with whatever you decide.
