Hello to you all, I am from Western Australia.

I have a female rabbit but not sure what she is. I saw her at my local vet and felt sorry for her so took her home.

About 4 days later I saw that she was building a nest so I rang the vet and they said bring her down for an x-ray, they took 3 pics and said she was definitely not pregnant.

A week later I went out in the morning to clean her hutch and notice she had given birth to 6 babies.

What a shock as I have never had a rabbit before, I have been given a lot of information on another forum which has been really helpful. The babies are now 3 weeks old and are getting up to all sorts of mischief.

I came across this forum and thought I might join in, this is my first experience at rabbits and gee they sure are addictive.

Mum and babies canbe seen on the link below.

OMG! :adorable:

And did mom actually go back in the hutch practically closing the door behind her? Hehe! A mommy break! She's had quite enoughof this, thank-you!

Love to hear what your vet had to say about it. ;)

Anyhoo... Glad you've joined us... :welcome1:hello

Yes well I would say the vet isn’t very good at missing the babies on an x-ray.

I have the problem of finding really good homes for them; I won’t give them to a pet shop as people tend to buy on impulse.

You had said that there are a few people from Australia on your site.

Do you have anywhere and permission to ask if people are interested in them?

If they live in Western Australia they could send me a message.

I would consider people on this forum as really caring for their rabbits and would love if someone could give these little darlings a home.

They are 3 weeks old now but can leave mum at 8 weeks.

:welcome1to the forum from myself and my herd. This is a great website and there are many helpful people here.

Those babies are adorable! :inlove:

I can relate to your surprise. I went to a rabbit show in mid-September and unknowingly bought a pregnantflemish giant. One night in October I discovered I had six new additions to my herd.

I hope you can find homes for all of them.

What a clever bunny! and such beautiful babies! all the best in finding them good homes :) are you thinking of keeping any for yourself?

Only if I cannot find a good home.

I already have 3 rescued cats, 2 rescued toy poodles and lots of fish.

As I am getting older I am finding it a little harder to look after them all.
