Hello there!

My name is Lisa, and I'm in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada (born and raised in Newfoundland).
I don't have my own little bun but am looking for one, the partner wants a hedgehog

but admits he won't take care of it and I'll end up doing all the work so since I'm going to be caring for this animal it's going to be one I want. lol

We currently have three cats, all DSH, all rescues and a dog, also a rescue who recently has moved back in with my parents due to his stress level at the move out here. And two foster kittens as I am involved with the Mississauga Humane Society. Most weekends I am out trapping feral cats but the rest of the week I'm either keeping it calm at home or working on my own business.

Hello and Welcome to RO, LOL that made me laugh

"since I'm going to be caring for this animal it's going to be one I want. lol"

Good for you!!

This website is really great and will help you pick the perfect bunny breed and give you lots of information.

Are you thinking of adopting a bunny?

Hi Cove,

I'm Shelter Manager of Midwest Rabbit Rescue in Plymouth, MIchigan. If you don't mind driving, you could find many beautiful rabbits to choose from in our shelter.

We are on petfinder under the zip code 48170. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Good luck to you no matter where you find your little sweetheart.

Laura

Thanks for the welcome. :biggrin2:

I'm either going to adopt a bunny (working with a rescue I'm a big advocate of adopting) or try and "rescue" one from those free to good home ads. Those things scare me for any animal as they can end up in so many bad situations let alone an animal like a rabbit that could be food for reptile.

Heck Laura, I drove down to Lancaster PA back in the spring to rescue a cat I think I could manage a drive to MI for a bun. I'll deffinately take a look at the buns the shelter has to offer.

Hi Cove! Welcome to the forum.

Good for you that you decide on what pet you want because you are going to take care of it. Too many times people get an animal because it was the "in" thing, and once the novelty wears off, they don't want it anymore. It's not fair for the animal.

I was on this forum for months before I got my first rabbit. I ended up getting a rescued rabbit from a vet who was looking for someone to give it a home. Pebbles (the bunny I got) has become a forum favorite.

So hopefully you will find a bunny in need and tell all of us the adventures of you and your future rabbit.

Stan :)

Yeah well to bad the partner doesn't feel that way. He's not impressed with the idea of a rabbit, as he had one as a child and it would run after the cats and bite their bums so now he's got this notion that all rabbits are cat chasing, bum biting, spraying jerks.

Apprently we have too many animals as it is for a rabbit but when asked about getting a hedgehog (he's wanted one for years) its OK... hmm somethings not right there.

welcome to ro i havent been on here long but oh well

good luck on getting
a bunny :)
