Hey all!

We've had Bugsy for a little over 8 months? Well this weekend we were getting supplies for our animals and i fell in love with a loppy ear bunny. I wasnt sure if 2 bunnies in one cage would work.. so i asked and i was told that Rabbits are VERY sociable and they LOVE their own kind. Well, not Bugsy! He was being very aggressive, which is so not like him!! That led me to start researching rabbits.. so little to say we rushed out and got him/her own house. So now, Oreo is happy and SAFE!

I would love to get them bonded, but i read thats hard to do... so i'm here to learn!!!

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Welcome to the forum. From what I understand most rabbits have to be started slowly in bonding. Put their cages close together and introduce them slowly. Supervise the visits and extend the length of these visits over time. Some rabbits bond quickly and are in love immediately, others take time, some never bond. Several of the forum have let their rabbits chose their own mates, from what I hear they are like humans and perfer to make their own choice. lol Are Oreo and Bugsy the same sex? Are either neutered? That has alot to do with bonding.

Definitely need to be neutered. Also, start in neutral territory, like a bathtub--neither will have a claim on the territory and they won't have good traction so you'll have more control. Rabbits get along better with other animals than with other rabbits generally.

Thats how we have them set up now, in their separate cages, but close together.
Bugsy is a boy and isnt fixed. Oreo, well.. i have no clue. I think she's a female, just because she's so pretty :)

Ive had rabbits when i was younger, way younger. Its not until now that my kids wanted a rabbit and i'm learning about them. Since all the reading ive pretty much accepted that they most probably wont bond lol. Thats ok, we'll just see how they go little by little.
