I was referred to this sight off of Yahoo Answers, and I love it. I have had plenty of dogs and cats through out my life, but this is my first bunny. I am so excited. My local pet supply rescued my guy after someone just turned him loose. Poor thing. Thanks to everyone here, and the site, I feel well educated now. Thank You All,Katrina :D

Welcome to the forum Katrina! Aw, I'm so glad you're guy was rescued, thank goodness. Sadly, this happens all the time:(.

Yes, can't wait to see pics of your new baby. BTW, you'll have to use a hosting site like Photobucket as the forum doesn't support attachments.

Hi there and welcome to RO! Glad youre liking it so far.

Youre awesome for saving this little guy. He was probably so scared out there all alone.

Im trying to think where Freeport is, west of Lansing? We have a few members in the Lansing area and one in Grand Rapids who does rescue. Im in the Flint area but I volunteer at Midwest Rabbit Rescue in Plymouth, MI (Im all over the state it seems) Letme know if you ever need anything. :)

Welcome to you and your little man (oh, whats his name btw?) :)

Freeport is west of Lansing, by Lake Odessa, Woodland, and Hastings. As I said, this is my first bunny. My home is filled with rescued cats and dogs. At the moment I have 8 pound puppies, 5kitty's, and one pharaoh outdoor kitty. Our new addition of Thumpy has been so much fun. He acts as though he has lived here all his life. Our only problem so far is him chewing on the couch. :banghead With the assistance of my border collie Heidi, who isfollowing him everywhere, seems to be keeping him out of trouble. The two of themare so cutetogether.

Thanks to all of you for making me feel so welcome. Pics will be soon to come as soon as I take some and figure out how to post them. Bye for now!

Wow you have a full house! Thumpy sounds adorable and its awesome your collie gets along with him!

I rescued a little dwarf bunny from near Hastings- Barry County Animal Control actually. It was about a 2.5 hour drive out there but so worth it to save my little girl Lucy;)

Three of my pups came from Barry Animal Control. That was reallycool of you togo out of your way to save your bunny. Ihave never seen bunnies there before, just cats and dogs. Regretfully, I have to distance myself from the shelter, because everytime I go see the pets that have been abandoned,I bring one home! I'm out of room and money!

I have a question about the structures I see for crating bunnies in. They look like pcs. you snap together, creating what ever you want. Where do I find these. I really want to give my guy a bigger, better nest. Thanks, Katrina

yeah Barry Co.had no clue what to do with a bunny there. They were using cat litter for her! She was so happy to get out of there with all those barking doggies. It was kind of those workers though to make such an effort to get her to a bunny rescue. I had planned on fostering her, but Im a sucker (and she bonded right away with my lionhead boy).

For cages, you must mean the NIC condos?

Hello, welcome to RO:pink iris:

happy to meet you:D
Lovely rescue story, its so good to hear that there buns finding new Mums like you when they really need someone to love them:innocent

:welcome1 Hello, Katrina! It's great to have you with us on RO. Your Thumpy is so blessed to have you(and a border collie slave). Our eldest bun, Gingivere, ate all the skirting off the back of our sofa when she was younger. Thank goodness we keep it up against the wall. Though, I wouldn't care if we didn't...anyone who sees it and doesn't like it can get over it (I have).

I just built a bunny palace and a collapsible (sp?) play pen with NIC grids. I love how versatile they are...so much better than the standard cages we have been using.

Looking forward to getting to know you and Thumpy better!
