New bunny owner and not exactly thrilled.

I know little about bunnies, somehow two of my kids ended up with a male and female rabbit - unfixed rabbits. So within 6 weeks of becoming a new less than thrilled owner of 2 bunnies, we had 8 new grub looking bunnies which are now 2.5 weeks old and now really cute.

oh, to introduce our bunnies;
Beelzebunny, formerly known as "Cutie" and was very not nice when pregnant. Supposed to be a lionhead or something, I cannot tell because I do not know my bunny breeds but she is black and white.
Cookie, the dad. White with little brown, black and gray spots around his eyes, down his back and one his ears.
Beelzebaby #1;black/gray and white, fat and fuzzy. Kids call him Big Joe.
Beelzebaby #2; black/gray and white, slightly smaller and less fat than #1, really fast and stinking cute.
Beelzebaby #3; brown and white, runt and sweet and fuzzy, all the kids' favorite, named Nutmeg.
Beelzebaby #4; fat, fuzzy white with black rings around eyes and gray spots on his back, extremely sweet and cuddly. Also a kid favorite.
Beelzebaby #5; called Snowball, fat, fuzzy and white with a few small spots on back. Loves to be snuggled.
Beelzebaby #6; Called Cream because it is not white and has curly-ish short hair, like crushed velvet.
Beelzebaby #7; short curly hair, mostly white with the same markings as the dad.
beelzebaby #8; short curly hair, mostly white with brown spots on his ears and back.

Welcome to RO. If you have any questions feel free to ask on here. The rabbitry and showroom can be much help. Do you have any pictures of your new bunnies?
Most people just post via photobucket

Are you considering neutering the boy?

I do not have a photobucket account. I do post pics of them on my 365 day thing and on facebook.
I plan on having both adult bunnies altered and if we keep any babies, them too.
We are kind of curious as to why some of the babies are sort of curly haired, even their whiskers are curly.

Well that really would depend on what breed they are. I know some mini rex kits can come out with Astrex bunnies which are recessive curly kits

Heres some info maybe these bunnies look like yours?
What has happened to them?
Astrex Rabbits, curly wavy rex, are nearly completely extinct... with only a very rare few "sport" mutations still occurring very rarely in certain stock. The rate occurrence is probably less than 1 percent of the entire world rabbit population as a whole. The most valuable Astrex rabbits that could be found was imported to America in 1945 for GREATER and FARTHER development of the genes, and somehow between then and now, wonderful curly rex rabbits were allowed to nearly parish into extinction.

OH MY GOD OH MY GOD! THAT IS EXACTLY THE TYPE OF RABBIT ONE OF OUR KITS IS! WE ARE CALLING HIM A REX BUT HES FAR TOO CURLY FOR THAT! THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE LINK *YAHOO*

p/s congrats about the kits.

make sure you separate mama and papa rabbit as otherwise you'll have more kits in 30 days

p.p.s soon you will become a bunny slave. bunnies are the most amazing pets ever :)

hehe you are welcome :)

The mom looks to be some kind of lionhead mix carrying a vienna gene. We have some quite nice genetic experts on this site luckily. The dad though i have no real clue what his breed could be is definitely a tri color pattern. and seemed to pass it onto at least two or three of your babies. But there was also a tort produced (nutmeg)
And from the two blues i think i would say the mom carries the Vienna gene.
Very cute rabbits!

Let me welcome you to Rabbits Online, my name is Dave and I am a moderator on the forum. So if I can be of any help please let me know. This is a terrific website for rabbits and their slaves, not only is it very active but also friendly. I am so glad you’re here and I know you will enjoy it.

They are adorable, very cute.

Many bunny's recommend their slaves to this site so we may learn of others methods to keeping our furry masters happy.

If you everhave a sick bunny, please post in The Infirmary and include your rabbit's age, breed and health history as well diet and output details leading up to the problem.

I have listed some links I thought you might find interesting:

*For reference the Library section

*To brag or tell everyone about the antics of your bunny or just to talk about your day here is where to start a Bunny Blog, you can also look back at it later and remember when you had a life before your bunny.

*Now all the bunny’s like talk to each other when we mere slaves aren’t around in the Bunny Chat is the spot to be.

*Rabbits Online also has regional forums , this a good way to find a vet in your area that has experience with rabbits and to find out from other nearby of good sources of rabbit supplies.

The Let Your Hare Down section is for anything non-bunny related.

Here is a link tothat will help you and your bunny to connect, How To Bond With Your Bunny.

Now every forum has rules and ours can be found with this link Rabbits Online Forum Rules. This gives guidelines on what is acceptable, what is not and how we hope everyone will treat each other.

Everyone on this forum loves to see pictures of each other’s bunnies. So if you would like to post a picture this link will help you do that, Upload Photo's to Photo Gallery. Then in the post, you click on the "G" in the tool bar to insert your photo. Many people also use Photobucket. You just copy the img file and paste it into the post.

I am glad you have joined rabbits online and I look forward to seeing you around.
