Hi everyone!

I am new to the forum, looking to connect with other bunny owners out there. I am a new bunny-mom. My boyfriend and I adopted our wonderful bun, Geddy Lee, from the House Rabbit Network about 3 months ago. He is a 1.5 year old mix (tried to identify him but I still don't know!). We rescued him knowing he had a bit of a grunting issue, which I overlooked because he was so damn cute! He has progressed a lot in the 3 months we had him. He is quite cage territorial, (what bun isn't?) and likes to lunge and grunt at feet and hands, but instead of trying to bite, his lunging and grunting has turned into bowing his head for pets! It was a bit of a struggle in the beginning, feeling like my bunny totally hated me, but now we spend 20-30 minutes at a time just laying on the floor giving him head massages (he melts in my hands!). We still have some ways to go with him, I hope eventually he will not be so afraid when we stand near him. But I only think that we were drawn to him for a reason, that we were the type of humans to show this adorable bun that we mean no harm, and only have love to give! Oh and we have a fantastically squeaky guinea pig who is also about 1.5 years old, and quirky, and cute and loud! But currently Geddy does not like him very much.

This is Geddy when he found his way onto my coffee table.

We would love to make friends and talk to other bunny-slaves:hearts out there!

Our last 2 rescues were just ahead of being put down as they were a challenge with behavioral issues. Cosmo is just a territorial teen who is always trying to train us--good luck with that! Hoppes was a little older Lion Head that had been returned 3 times for being aggressive. It's taken a few months but they are both loving and very friendly. You can't fault a rabbit for being a rabbit, you just have to understand their behavior and train them in how you want them to be. Too many here let their bunny train them instead--they are so cute it's hard to resist!

Aww, he's a lovely looking guy, I'm so glad that you've taken the time to work through those issues, many people wouldn't :) I'm sure he'll continue to turn into a real sweetheart :)
