Hello
My 2 year old house bunny is breathing faster than normal and nostrils a bit flared (this can happen when something has spooked him but I didn't hear anything that would have caused this) and he also peed outside of his hutch twice in last 12 hours which is unusual. I will get a vet appointment but wanted to ask for any advice as I'm very worried.
Thank you

Normal breathing pattern for a rabbit goes up to 60 breaths / minute. I would count to make sure how much faster than normal your rabbit is breathing. Is he eating normally? What about pooping? I would take your rabbit to the vet too at least to check there is nothing in his nostrils or anything, but sometimes rabbits can get scared because of a vibration or a sound / presence we can't perceive. I've lived in a flat in Paris, in front of a train/bus/underground station with rabbits for five years and they were thumping or looking scared about things I couldn't hear quite regularly. Still, 12 hours is a bit long for a scare... I hope it's nothing serious!
