I can't seem to find a guide for keeping my flemish giant at a healthy weight. There's no length to weight ratios anywhere that I can find. All I seem to find just says the bigger the better! But Gobi is FAT, that much I can tell. I can hardly feel his ribcage, shoulders, or hips. He just feels like a big stuffed animal. His mother is ~14lbs if I had to guess. His father was 12lbs when he passed away. But even aside from weight, Gobi has outgrown both his parents! He's 4 inches longer than his mother, and 2 inches taller than her. He's somewhere in the upper teens to lower twenties at 1 year old.
Should I even be shooting for a target weight or should I just be going by what I can feel on his body?
