Fenny holds a grudge for ages and ages. I hate being on his bad side!!! (the back side by the way!)

I hate the way he hunches up and tries to hide in plain view when Iopen the door. He hates that oil, but it's keeping his nose clean anddry. Then he flounces off and puts his back to me.

sigh

what's a mom to do???

treeeeaats!!!

Doesn't my Bub look ever so scrumptious in hisavatarphoto!

Don't you just want to scoop him up and hughim?!

Oh, how I love my Bubby...

he does look scrumptious. And sweet. too bad looks are deceiving!

Plus he's older now, and bigger and stronger and badder!!! :X:X

But he did have an adorable moment playing chase the feet...hehe

whew!

the situation has definitely degenerated today.

Not only are both of us sniffling worseon a dry dusty day, but he seems to have lost the feisty spirit he had.

He's healthy enough, eating and drinking, running aroundbutwhen I reach in the cage he just freezes, bows his little head, andshrinks away. He sits stiffly when I scratch his head, and whenreleased, runs for the box.

I did make a few tiny brownie points by scratching his ears. At firsthe thought I was going to put stuff on him, so he did the little rigidbunny act, but then when I took my hand away without touching his nosehe looked very surprised and ran forward to me. Then recollectedhimself and took off for the box.

Won a few more by some dandelion greens, which he loves,butstill.... It may sound like he's sick, but he'sdefinitely not. He's just giving me the cold shoulder. As soonas I shut the door he's running around again.

He's always a bit aloof, but he is definitely letting me know I'm introuble. Can't figure out how to get myself out of it!! (maybe a run inthe front yard with Bub's harness and lead??)

Hi Rose,

I don't recall why Fenny has to have the treatment. What's wrong with the little one?

As to the attitude, he doesn't hate you, he hates what you do to him with the oil.

Spend some quiet time with him just petting him and talking to him. Ibonded with my babies quite a lot when it was time to go to bed. I turnoff all the lights and spend about 10 minutes just petting and kissingand talking to them individually before I go to bed myself. Sometimesit was a bother because I just wanted to bee-line it into bed, but Imade myself go through the motions. That time is important to mebecause they're time here on earth with us is so short. It helped us tobond a lot. They both look for that good-night kiss.

These little ones can hold a grudge, but just like people, they get madand then they get over it. I know it sounds silly, but tell him why youhave to put that oil on him. Many times in my experiences, I'vediscovered that they understand a lot more than we think.

He doesn't hate you, Rose. He just hates the process of what he has to go through to make him well again.

Here! Here! Carolyn's words should be somethingwe all remember when our bun's give us the "BUTT" or backend. (Hmm, Iseem to recall Elf being quite the demonstrator of such actions*snicker*)He/she doesnt hate YOU, he/she hates the process ofwhat your doing to him/her.

I heartily agree, Jade is a bit o a sickly bunny at times-she is goingon 10 months, and her grudges got shorter and shorter over time..to thepoint where she just looked a little miffed at the syringe and I wouldallow her to get back at it AFTER she swallowed her medicine.

Isn't that the thing with bunnies though? time, time and a littlemore time?

Oh,oh!!!!!! atElf!!!!

That pose looks mighty familiar. I got itfrom "somebunny" just last night.

Oh, these bunnies ... what canya' do but luv'em!!!

Good news and bad news today: Fenny's nose isagain raw and drippy (oddly enough we both get sniffly on the samedays, so we must both be allergic to the same thing in the air). Andhe's sneezing and shaking his head because he hates when he gets junkbuilt up on his nose. He'll scratch obsessively.

But the good news is that I rubbed his ears with good results and he seemed to relent slightly!

unfortunately, tomorrow he gets more oil before he scratches too much.

sigh
