I am so very sorry for your loss.

What happened? I thought you were getting him to the vet?

we had to wait till tuesday or monday....:bigtears:

He was the...the only friend I had........I have no human friends..............

just out of curiosity, but why did you have to wait till then? Surely if you called the vet they would have seen you as an emergency?:?

I'm very sorry to hear that you lost him.

There are also emergency vets. While some aren't exactly rabbit knowledgeable, they may have been able to save him. I used a non-rabbit knowledgeable emergency vet one weekend when Harper was in GI distress. He admitted he wasn't too keen on rabbit diseases, but he did his best, researched it, made some phone calls, and prescribed me some medication to help get things going until I could see my regular vet the following Monday.

While you can't change the past, and not to make you feel bad, the rabbit should've been seen by a vet at the first sign of trouble. And even being a weekend, he should've been rushed to an ER vet, not wait around till Monday or Tuesday.

they dont think it's worth it to spend that much time and money for a rabbit,or any pet for that matter.

Oh, sweetie I am so sorry. I know how hard it is to lose your best friend. Pls post in Rainbow bridge if you did not already;it is a great place for support during a difficult time such as this.

Binkies Kody Bear! :runningrabbit:

I'm so sorry... I understand how some parents are like that, because they just don't like animals. It's pitiful on the animal's part.

In all honesty, I would definitely advise that you not get another rabbit. If it were to become ill, it should not have to endure the same fate.

I am so sorry for you. You sound like a very loving person. If you are young and still with your parents, unfortunately, they do make the decisions. I know how important your little bun was to you but your parents apparently don't. Please don't blame yourself as we all know how much you loved him. You said you had no friends but that is not true. You can make many on-line friends on this site as we all love rabbits in the same way. We are all your friends.

:)When you are old enough to support yourself and move out you can have all the bunnies you want. As far as I'm concerned their is no greater person than one who ,loves animals.

My thoughts. I did that too.

What did your parents say about what happened ?

I'm so sorry to hear that you lost Kody...it is so painful to lose a cherished pet. My heart goes out to you for having to go through this. I'll post a copy of the poem that helps me during such times:

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Sending heartfelt prayers out to you, and to Kody....
