I have no idea how much bale of hay is compared to my 96oz. I imgaine it's much, much, much larger, but I have no clue how much. Can someone give me a comparison picture? I don't understand sizes here, so I can't get an idea of which is more.

If it's $4/bale> $15.99/96oz bag and the bale is a lot quantity-quality wise I would like to buy from local farmers and support them rather then Petsmart.

Well i dont know how many ounces it is compared to what you are getting because my brain isnt fu nctioning right now, lol. I would try getting a bale at a time and seeing how long it lasts. I switched to local farmer hay because i was spending about 45.00 for a box of hay from oxbow and it was 25 lbs , it lasted me only a few weeks!!!!! I use one bale of hay, which i pay 4.00 for and the farmer is right around the corner, and it lasts about 1 to 1 1/2 months, if you do the math it is sssssssssssssooooooooooooo much better, and the other part is the rabbits and piggies love it!!!!!!!!!!

I am feeding three rabbits, and two guinea pigs with it. I thik if you can get local hay it is always better, and most rabbits like it. Figure that if you dont like it , or the rabbits dont like it you will only be out 4.00 so that isnt bad. there are alot of people on here that wish that they had farms around them to get hay from, lol

Well, I'm from central Iowa so there are farmers everywhere! I'm going to go out and find a bale today and see how it works. I would like to get my buns on a mix of at least three different hays, one being alfalfa. That way I can stop feeding my fatty pellets.

It just seems that for that small a bag at that price it's not worth it. I have a friend who has horses, at that rate she would never be able to feed them.

Oh I forgot! My barn owner was going to trade work for hay, I should take her up on that!

I just got off the phone with the feed store. The guy said the bales had to be some where around 90lbs for $8. 96oz< 6lbs.

That may be a rip off or really good. I don't know. All I know is that I'm paying a lot less and my rabbits will be a lotta happy.
