I do! And that is why my husband handles the litter box cleaning/changing and the hay clean up and refill... As long as I don't touch it much, or get to close to breath it in... I'm good
I'm allergic to hay, too. Sad thing is it took me almost a year to figure out the problem. I sneeze about 60 times a day and have a runny nose and my throat gets really tickly. Thankfully for me the cure is pretty simple- I just take over the counter Claritin and it takes care of it
Have you considered switching to the compressed hay blocks. I am not sure where to get them cheaply, but kay-tee makes some. don't have allergies myself, but those seem like they will release less hay into the air.
Not seasonal. But I developed an allergy to Timothy hay so bad that I couldn't be in the same house without having an allergy attack. Putting my hand in the bag to take some out also causes a reaction on my skin.
I finally had to bag the timothy I had left and put it in the trunk of my car. And let the rabbits go hungry for a dy while I found an alternative food source. I feed them orchard grass now. I have zero allergies to it.
I was prescribed some claratin since I am pregnant. So far so good, but eesh that timothy hay is killer prior to the meds. I bought domino some alfalfa blocks but she doesn't seem to care too much for them as she does the loose grass...I guess once she is done with this bag of timothy I'll pick up a bag of orchard.
Oat hay also seems to be a winner with me. No allergies to it so far. Alfalfa on the other hand is worse than Timothy on my allergies. I don't eve think I can wait for it to run out. I may have to give it away.
