Have any of you ever used the dye in your washing machine?

I just got back from Wal Mart with some "denim blue" dye to use in the washing machine. I have several pair of jeans that are faded a little too much. I like the worn look but not in all cases.

How well does it work? I'm running a load now and am a little nervous as to what the results may be.

How hard will it be to clean out the washing machine afterwards?

I also have a TON of white T-Shirts (with logos/designs on them) that are either lightly stained or whatnot that I was going to donate, but now I'm thinking of throwing them in later to see what happens. Has anyone had any luck with something like that?

I usually just run a load of hot water and a couple of old towels with bleach in the water. It cleans pretty well.

Be sure to wash those jeans separately for awhile. They might fade blue dye for some time.

I dye clothing for horse shows. I did my own combo to get a deep dark purple pair of pants one time. It's really cool how they turned out. I used Navy Blue, and Red and they really came out perfect :)
