Ok so my lionhead doe had a litter on April first of 6. Their was only one tiny one that i hand feed a couple times and he caught up(he is fine now as i held him back). At 8 weeks old i sold 3 and kept 3. The first doe i sold was BIG and is doing great(thank god since she went to a 6 year old boy). And theother 2 arnt doing so good now. The one doe was tiny when she left but fat. But she went to a breeder i know and she said she would be fine she would but her with the some other babys she is keeping. I e-mailed to see how she is doing and she died last week. She said she never grew. She acted fine then was dead the next morning. The secand i sold to a friend that is starting breeding. He is little not growing and thin.I tried to tell her to give him back to me and she wont. The 3 i kept are all fine big fat and healthy. The other 2 were also fat and seemed healthy when i had them. The mother has had a couple other litters and they are fine. Anyone else ever have this happen?

It may be a fader thing. I recently went through something similar but not quite with a bun I was purchasing. It was about 8 weeks old when I went to pick him and another bun up from a local breeder. She explained that he had started losing weight and just kind of fading a bit so she wanted to keep him a bit longer. Since I was coming back in a few weeks for another bun this sounded great to me. She nursed him and loved him and he started doing so much better, then suddenly he was just gone. It was a litter of 3 and they had all just faded away at varying times. It could be that just those two posess the fader quality. (the dad to the litter I was talking about had started to fade as a kit, but was able to be pulled out of it) Just a thought though, I'm still pretty new to all of this.
