Okay, a little gross but I really don't want to waste my money...
I really want to have all the blackheads/big pores on my nose/chinremoved and I was thinking a facial might take care of this. I can geta 50 minute facial for $60 in Rochester, NY, much cheaper here when I'min college than in NJ where my parents live.

Has anybody had a facial? Did you actually see any difference? Did it do anything with your blackheads/pores?

Well, I have had a couple, and I loveit! But I have heard to really be effective, you have to doit on a regular basis. It's a bit painful and they tell youit can cause you to break out after the fact, so if anything, tell thepeople at the spa/facial place what you're expecting and see what theyrecommend.

Thanks for the advice!
At least now I know I should get one of a Friday in case I completelybreak out and don't have to face school/work until Monday :)

I figured that if I asked at the spa, they would just tell me... yeah, of course it'll do that...

hah true - the place I go they're pretty honestabout the expectations. They ask if you want to do a lot of"extraction" (I think that's about the most gross way of sayingthat...), and you can tell them the type of things your loojking for -like to get rid of blackheads etc.

There are different kinds of facials.. not sure if one kind is betterthan others for certain results. I usually just get the basicstuff, nothing fancy.

Hi i am a beauty therapist so hopefully i canhelp. First of all you need to get a facial with steam this opens thepores so the extractions are easier. Extractions (squeezing yourblocked pores) should never be done without opening the pores first. Ifind that it is more difficult to extract if a client is not used tohaving regular facials but not always, if a skin is oilythere is an amazing difference after one facial. Also you can break outafter but i haven't had this with the facials i do most clients findany spots they had before the treatment clear up much quicker than theynormally do. can depend on the products the salonuse

Some products are really good to use at home to keep the blackheads/blocked pores to a minimum so u don't need as many extractions.

Cathiodermie facials are really good for blocked pores and so is microdermabrasion but i don't know about prices over there.

I am really honest with my clients i don't see the point of lying tothem if it doesn't do what i say i would just lose the client so itsnot worth it and clearing skins is one of my fortes (if i do say somyself) there is nothing better than fixing the place that everyonesees!!! I get great results with my treatments.

If you are interested in products you can pm me as i don't know if there is a policy on putting names of stuff on here

Cool - I want you to do my facials!!

Soo... can you PM me what kinds of things to use forcloggedpores. I find I get them on my nose a lot(likeeveryone else!).

Thanks!!!

My humans cousin gave her a bunch, she said totell u they are so awesome! It makes your face tight and makes yourface feel refreshed!

can i ask a bit of a silly question

how do u no if you have blocked pores and also bleakheads

when i was alot younger i would get black seed things on the bottom of my chin are that them

If you have open pores and they have blackcentres thats blocked pores usually if you squueze them the black bitcomes out and its yellowy/white underneath.

Most people have some blocked pores hardly anyone has none.

The reason they are black is because the oil gets up to the top of theskin and oxidises with the air making it turn black but yes i reckonthat was blocked pores.

The difference between blackheads and blocked pores is blackheads are alot more pronounced and can be anywhere but the pore is bigger and alittle bit damaged, blocked pores or congestion is usually just in thet zone (forehead nose and chin) and esp. nose and chin and is causedbecause you produce more oil and dead skin in these 2 ares thananywhere else on your face. So pay special attention to these with yourexfoliator. (on most people these 2 areas also feel rougher thananywhere else)
