Well reading Zins story got me thinking.

How many times something has hapened good or bad with a cop. I like hereing story so I thought I would start.

Last week me and hubby went to the beach a few blocks from the house nothing huge. 4 city blocks we did not walk cause my dads puppy is not leashed trained. On the way back I said I will drive now I have a suspended licence but I have not drove in over 2 years. Needless to say I am a speeder big time. But my mom and sister who taught me how to drive speed also.

Anyways we got pulled over I was like great either I get a ticket or I am going to jail. No questions asked right. So I am honest from the beginnning hoping to get a ticket not get hailed off the jail. He pulls me out of the car searches me and then hubby gets uot of the car like wait a minute flashes his prison guard badge and the cops lets us go and told hubby to drive home.

I was like how offen does that hapen? Hubby said at least once a week. I was like so you dont learn your lesson cause you have that red badge. It kinda pi**** me off. That I get treated like crap until that badge comes out.

Now our car is not the best car no bumper front or back neeed a paintjob hasdents. Most people dont even think it runs when they see it. So we get pulled over quite offen.

But I never relized that when he handed them that badge thats why we always got off scott free. Its erks me dont get me wrong I am glad I did not get a ticket but if a cop pulls a cop over they dont get aticket either kinda bothers me.

Not so true...not every cop gets a 'pass' by their badge. I know several state troopers who would give anyone a ticket that is breaking the law. Especially around here. Now my hubby is a police officer and he knows several of his co-workers who have been pulled over/given tickets to-he even got one himself! I don't think that getting a free pass with your badge is the norm, it's definately not the rule(at least here).

Sorry, I'm not trying to be ugly, I just don't like hearing people bash on police officers-they don't get paid enough to deal with what they are required to-belive me, I hear all kinds of things. They are not all perfect, there are always some 'bad eggs' but every career has people like that.

Not bashing the cop bashing hubby he peed me off. He does what he does cause he gets a free pass. Prison guard dont make enough either for what they go through. trust me I know how you feel.

But I was not bashing the cop. Is it not funny that the few perfetions that should make the most make crap pay. Another day nother story

I am going to send hubby your way so he can get a ticket finally!!:p

Stuff like that happens here all the time. Guards can get away with whatever they want because they stick up for eachother.

Aha, When my brother was 13(he's 27 now) he hung out with out next door neighbors. His 'friends' girlfriend was a, erm, dancer. When my mom found that out she obviously didn't want my brother to hang around that sort of enviroment at 13 so my mom called the police (not 911, the regular number) and asked what she could do and he asked for the adress and stuff. Anyways, 2 hours after my mom hears sirens outside and my brother is getting pulled out of the neigbors house by a cop. They put him in the cruiser and talked to him. My mom laughed the whole time lol.

8 of one of myneighbors horses got out one day and i didn't have a car to go to there house which is several miles away but the horses are just down the road from me and there phone numbers unlisted... I called the sheriffs department (they have a livestock man ) and told the sheriff ( i actually talked to him) he said some one would be out there... 4 hours i waited and nobdy showed up... i tried to run the horses back in by myself but couldn't get them to go... they ran behind someones house so i had to go home and deal with my own problems... the horses were out for 3 days before the owner realized they were out and no officer ever showed up to deal with them...

Well.. to be honest..I don't get your story about him flashing the prison guard badge and you getting off.

Your license was suspended, and you knew better than to drive, yet you did. That's pretty irresponsible, and totally recklesstowards other people. It doesn't impress me much that my kids are on the same road you so willfully disregarded,Technically, you should have been taken to jail.. and cops trump guards...anyday.

Thats neither here nor there.. your an hour away from me..and we have both state and federal prison complexes right up the road in Nederland. Every other person is a guard, and in these parts, cops, sherriffs, and DPS troopers have little to no respect whatsoever for a guard as it is just a matter of taking a course and presto chango your a guard.

I could go into the differences of why, such as cops are facing the unknown, and guards are in a controlled and monitored situation, but I don't have the kind of time.

Bottomline, I was a guard at the Atascosita Unit inHouston for a stint, dating a Harris County Sherriff's deputy when I was seperated from Rick.. my badge did little to nothing for me except get me attention from hot guys.

Yeah zin I new that I am more pissed that I got off. How many other people get off. I have insurence on my car so if I am drving and get in a reck its fine I got in troube for no issurence over 3 years ago.

Before I even had controle of my isurence.

I think the cop should of either gave me a ticket or took me to jail.

Its the cop descretion it pretty much depend on if you pay your stuff everymonth myne is pade we are waiting for liberty to release which should of happen 2 months ago.

I am not mad that he pulled me out of the car I am mad that he let me off scott free

We were very fortunate to meet an understanding officer last night as we were driving home from Mother's Day celebrations. We live about 2 hours away from my folks, and finally managed to leave at about 11 at night.

There is an overpass near my parents house on the main highway that was under some minor construction a while ago. We don't go that way very often, but we both knew it was a 90 zone (the entire stretch is).

We were pulled over about a minute or so past the bridge by an officer. Apparently, the area was still signed for 60KM/hr. Neither Nate or I saw the sole sign; we were travelling just under 90.
Thankfully, he was understanding of our mistake.. there were no crews working, and the area was deserted.

I am very thankful for strong, committed officers of the law. Our families have a large number of enforcement officers, and I shiver to hear some of the wretched stories they have experienced. Too many horrific things happening to children, animals etc, and then they have to deal with the very last straw of the day as us speeders.

My officer friends and relations are upstanding folks; Nate is considering joining the RCMP. Yes, there are some bad apples in the barrel, and yes, they may not respond to some calls if something more immediate is occurring. I can't blame them for it though.. Baby in the backseat syndrome, right :) I wouldn't wish the job on anyone.

I feel very sad for some nations that do not have a strong police force... Some South American citizens would adore the protection that we can get here in the US and Canada :)

So please, let's post respectfully with appreciation for each situation :) .
