:(Harley's leg is not improving with rest. They originally thought that the ligaments would heal with confinement, but at this point there is little or no improvement. His little foot that he drags has gotten sore, so we have changed all of his rugs to cotton bath rugs and that is definitely helping. The vet feel that the other leg will be fine even though it is over compesating for the injured one. His knee and foot are almost always straight out expect when he is moving around, he can believe it or not turn with it and actually use that knee. Of course there are the occassions that he trips himself and ends up on his face. When trying to eat his cecotropes he ends up doing a tuck and roll somersalt. At least he is managing to do that anyway. We are changing his litter box to one that Len is building for him with no lip in front so that it is easier for him to get into. We are using the bottom of a carrier case right now and even a 1" will cause him stress. He is resisting litter box training because he has towels in his litter box, which I guess to him are the same as his carpeting. lol :?They want to wait on doing surgery - it is very risky - at least the anthesia with small bunnies - it is a long and expensive surgery- maybe he will adjust to his condition- maybe with more time it will improve- he could loss his leg - he could die during surgery. Boy that is a long list of maybe's and concerns and huge risk factors. I am waiting to see what the specialist that the vet is consulting actually says, and I guess giving him more time to grow and get bigger and stronger. Will continue praying for a miracle and the leg actually heal or him adjust to it. On the positive note he is the happiest, most affectionate little soul you could run into. He loves everyone, kisses everyone and stands at his barrier ( rolled up blankets and begs to be picked up or just sent loose for a run - which at this time the running bit we are not doing, picking up he gets alot of ). Me - I just feel bad for him - bunnies are suppose to do binkies and run and jump. My vet says her dog has 3 legs and gets around just fine. When turned loose he tears around on his outstretched legs with abandon - so who knows. He seems pretty happy. Maybe I should get him a friend?

Oh Alma, my heart goes out to you and Harley. God sent him to you because he knew you would take excellent care of this little angel.

If it does come down to him losing the leg please give him a chance (I'm sure you would). I know of a bun that was splay legged. She ended up disloacating her knees and they had to take BOTH back leggs off. Now that she has had time to heal she is back into trouble even more than before. She has a little cart for when she goes outside. Inside on soft surfaces she just goes where she wants to. She even can get up and down off furniture! You would never know by her attitude that she is a special needs bun, so much spunk.

Bunny kisses from Becky, she still likes her big lops!
