I need some suggestions for my nic cage flooring. I have used, camping rubber mats, those puzzle piece foam kids flooring, blankets and towels and nothing works. My rabbits are constantly digging and ripping whatever gets put down. I need something that isn't going to be chewable, diggable or slippery. I was looking at tiles, but they are kind of expensive, and hard to find ones that wouldn't be slippery. Maybe it's because my rabbits aren't spayed or neutered (which will be changed next week), so they are digging and chewing/ripping whatever's one the bottom up?

What finally worked for me was the foam puzzle mats with dollar store stick on tiles, and ceramic tiles on top (because they don't quite fit).

I found tiles for about 20 bucks total for I think 30-40 of them.

I use coroplast with fleece blankets. They can't really dig at it and the only place to chew is along the edge (I use poster hangers along to edge to stop chewing). You can use clips to keep the fleece in place so it isn't moved around too much.

I used those stick on tiles from Lowes. I payed $0.38 each for mine so they were super cheap! I put a super thin carpet rug from the dollar store down on the tiles for traction. Its so then that he cant chew it. You could try that. I got it at Dollar Tree.

I use coroplast with those $4 indoor/outdoor mats from home depot. Theodore loves them! He can lay on the mats or the coroplast depending on how warm he is.

Mine have laminate pop together flooring I got on clearance, with cheap runner rugs on top. Mine chew up foam things, but they seem to leave the rugs alone (so far). Cardboard is also a good deterrent to prevent chewing on the floor since mine seem to dig/chew at the cardboard in there instead of their floor.

:idea
I was thinking, couldnt you get some cheap stick on tiles like I said before and get some reallly rough sand paper, like the jagged kind and scuff up the tiles. That way they would be somewhat rough and help with traction? They couldnt chew that or dig it up!

oh yeah, they have grass mats, toilet paper tubes stuffed with hay, little wood ball, wooden cube, stuffed animals (not to chew), other wood things, etc...

Well...I'd say just keep doing what your doing until they are fixed and then see how they act...

You might want to add a dig box: cardboard box 12" up to the size of a cube in its dimensions, full of partly shredded paper they can dig in & shred some more.

Or just sheets of paper. If I leave any paperwork on the floor or futon for too long, somebun will come along to do some shredding for me. =)
