Happy Thanksgiving! :biggrin2:

What are your favorite holiday foods?

In the US we normally have turkey, but this year I'm going to make lasagna since I'm not eating meat any more. We will see if the family detects the soy based fake meat I'm going to use. :p

Favorite holiday food: Stuffing and cabbage rolls!!! We make the best stuffing and I always make 2x as much so there is tons of leftovers. Also cabbage rolls. We are Ukrainian so we have cabbage rolls for every holiday.

We go all out here; Turkey, brussel sprouts, sausages cooked with the turkey, stuffing, wild rice, mashed potatoes...

I'm pretty sure I ate twice my body weight, I've felt soo gross since last night. But guess what I just ate for lunch? YUP! A whole 'nother plate.

Silly girl.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all. Had our big meal yesterday. Turkey, stuffing, cranberries, mashed potatoes,gravy,corn-on-cob,sweet potatoes with brown sugar and butter, fresh green beans, buns, pumpkin pie and ice cream. I too,ate more than my body weight. My daughter cooked this year so was even better. Just got back from a 10 mile hike hoping to get rid of the extra pounds caused by the pig out.lol Benjamin is currently sprailed out on the floor after his great big dinner. Thankful for my husband, family, BenBen the drop dead gorgeous french lop snuggle bun, and the fact that we still have work coming in. Yeh!!!!!!!!!!!

I did ham, (turkey once a year is enough for me), mashed potatoes, mashed (together)carrots and turnips, green beans with toasted almonds in a butter garlic sauce and eggplant Parmesan.

Lots of food tasty ifI may say so myself.

Susan:)

:( I think my invite was lost in the mail....

Belated Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians too! My regular Thanksgiving meal usually consists of everything but the turkey. I no longer eat meat, but don't shy away from the gravy (need to have it anyway, swallowing certain foods can be a bit difficult for me (radiation aftereffects)). So I have the veggies (potatoes, carrots, peas, sweet potato) with gravy and cranberry sauce. And, of course, dessert. This year it was warm apple pie and ice cream. :)

Hey Janet if you ever come to the GREAT country North of the United States of America let me know and i will cook all these dishes for you.

Carley besides choclate i think Mashed Carrots & turnips are my favorite food. When cook/boil them I add corn syrup to the water and then when I mash them I also add a little corn syrup plus a fair amount of pepper. It's funny I very seldom use pepper on any of my food except carrots/turnip.

Susan:)

PS

I'm having leftover ham and carrots and turnip for lunch (yes i froze it) lol YUM YUM
