VARNA AND the hyperactive hammy

can i use human rescue remedy

Hi Varna!!

Is this a new friend for Toffee? How's is Toffee doing?

I think she'll adjust ok in a few days. I wouldn't put a wheel in untilshe's comfortable. If you do, try to get one that has no open spaces onthe place where she'll run.

About the head butting....she may be trying to burrow in the beddingand trying to go through the plastic. Most cages will hold up to this.I had a few that did that a lot, but none of them managed to chewthrough the plastic.

Her teeth will start to wear down now that she has a good place tolive. Give her some wooden chew toys and she'll take care of it herself.

This is just my opinion...I wouldn't use aplastic cage...When I was little, I had a Siberian Dwarf female thatchewed through the plastic on the side of the cage. Onemorning I woke up to find my hamster missing. We couldn'tfigure out how she managed to get out, all the doors and tubes were intact. That little girl chewed a quarter sized hole right inthe middle of the side!

We didcatch her a couple of days later. I left foodout for her and water but she just outsmarted us so we had to set atrap for her. Ha, ha, ha little monster lovedcheese. :bunnydance: She then lived out the rest ofher life in a glass aquarium.

I am just telling you this because I don't want to see your hamster go missing. ;)
