Halloween Puppies

We went to the mall againfor trick or treating this year. I hate pet stores...really...BUT these little cuties were begging to have their photos taken. This is my favorite dog, the Boston Terrier. They were selling these pups for around $700 apiece, so it's not like I could even be tempted to take one of them home, but I couldn't resist snapping some photos. I hope you enjoy them!!!

Oh, and in case that wasn't cute enough, my daughter (lilyan8 on the boards) wanted to dress up as an old lady for Halloween this year. We found an Abigail Adams costume, and went with it!

I certainly hope that pet store wasn't promoting that liver and white as some sort of rare and special color. Its an unacceptable color in the breed standard but it doesn't mean they aren't as cute as the rest! :hearts

There are only 3 colors accepted in the breed standard, Brindle and white, Black and white and Seal and white.

There are several colors that pop up that aren't accepted into the breed standard and of course you know there are people out there who will demand these pups are rare and special and should cost 3x as much as a black and white. Non accepted colors are solids of any color, fawn/blue/liver/red/brown/white with white. Also any that don't have the proper color pattern, or blue/yellows eyes. But of course people will be breeding for these and take advantage of people.:grumpy:

Yes, there are still pet stores in America that sell all sorts of animals. Some of the better chains no longer do so, but there are many that do.

At least they are in paper bedding. The pet store where I worked for a month (giggle) housed all their pups in small kennels with wide spaced wire mesh. They didn't even have anything to rest on other than the metal. I hated it. Those puppies almost look ashamed of their costumes in some of the pictures I have to admit, they're adorable, though! Your daughter looks good in that costume! haha! I like the Abigail Adams thing It worked!
