Could there be any chance at all that she is pregnant?

If not, is she spayed? If she is not spayed then she could be having a flase pregnancy, where they go through the motions, but with no kits.

Try not to panic, take some deep breaths. I've had at leats three does make crackign nests with fur and all and it was all for a fals pregnancy.

there can be a slite chance she can be pregnet .but when my cusin gave her he didnt say if she was spaied

You might have to prepare for some babies then, just incase. It might also be worth finding out from your cousin if s/he knows if your bunny is spayed.

How long have you had her? When was she with the buck?

i had her for a few months i got her in july. She was with Gumbo a few weeks ago!

Is she shedding/molting at all? It's possible that she's pulling out the hair that she's shedding off. Has she put all the hair on one place, like in a corner, or is it just floating around everywhere?

I'm not very experienced at this (actually, I'm not experienced at all), but since no one else is telling you what you need to get ... You'll need a nestbox, and, if it turns out she is pregnant, I highly recommend taking her to a vet so that they can give you some advice and check if they think she is pregnant aswell.

Since the rabbit was just sort of handed over, I'm guessing that they were not fixed, and therefore there is a risk that she is pregnant, especially if they were left alone together. However, relax, it is possible that it is a false pregnancy, and, even if it isn't, she could still get through the pregnancy alright.

If she is pregnant, see if you can find enough knowledgeable people that would be interested in buying the rabbits, or that you have at least six or so spare cages. (I've gone blank, and can't remember how many kits are generally in a litter).

Good luck!
Rachel.

Is Gumbo neutered?

Was this planned?

No Gumbo is not neutered

i guss you can say that it was planned because my dad sayed that he wanted gumbo and oreo to have kits.

thank you Mikoli my dad dose have some people who saied that thell take one. all of the hair was in one spot but this morring it looked like Oreo moved it all around. what else i hate is that i have to clean out her cage and i dont want her to start pulling all her hair out agin.i clean her cage every week so her cage is not bad yet but it will be trust me she is like a wild rabbit! LOL! ;) i am just worried cuz i know all about moulting from gumbo and this is not moulting! i am new to all this!

Gumbo, I'd pick up the hair and put it in a box, big enough for your girl to turn around in, with a dip cut out on one side to give her access to the box. A shoe box will work in a pinch. Put the box back in the corner she chose and be ready for babies. If it is a false pregnancy, you can clean out her cage after you are sure no babies are coming. If she does have babies, at least they are safe and warm in a good nest.

If you throw the hair away, she will pull more. Prepare for a litter and if she's pregnant, at least the babies will have a chance.

Since this is about a rabbit possibly being pregnant and having babies, I moved the thread to the Rabbitry section so that other breeders can give you some advice.

You definitly need to get her building a nest in a box verses on the cage floor. If she refuses a box, you may need to move the nest and babies after they are born.

It is still possible that she is having a false pregnancy.

You should sit down with your Dad and a calender and try to count out the days exactly. She should give birth anywhere from 28-32 days, and it's important to know how long it's been since the breeding.

If it's only been two weeks, I would guess that she's having a false pregnancy. But if it's closer to 28 days, then I would say she's getting ready to have babies.

You should read through the library section on breeding and care of the young:

to all you breaders out there can you feel the heads in the stumic? cuz i try to feel it. she is more fisty ever since she met Gumbo

It is possible to palpate a doe and feel the kits, but I'm not entirely sure how to do it. I hope someone can explain it to you (and I'll make use of that explanation too, lol)

How is your doe doing?

If she is going to kindle (have kits) she might be a little "feisty". It's their protective instincts. You can comfort her and pet her. She may not like being picked up much. Yes, sometimes you can see the babies move a bit right before they deliver. (especially if they are all stretched out and their belly is smooth. (Check out JAK's videoon her Paris... you can see motion down the does side.)

Edited to add: you may not want to palpate at this late stage. If you don't know how to do it, you can do some damage... You'll just have to wait and see...
