Time for some positive posting! lol
I have been working my behind into the ground for the last two weeks getting my two walk/trot beginner kids ready for their first show. Plus helping my friends W/T kid ready for her first time showing Showmanship(which is not an easy class). Plus getting my snotty mare ready for her first show in two years.
Well the hard work paid off. We had a hunter/jumper show on Saturday where we got 1st in our flat equitation, 2end in jumping equitation and a 3erd in hunter over fences and a 4th in pleasure.
I had my two kids take a 2end and a 4th in the walk/trot equitation class. I had another kid I work with(but don't officially coach) get 4th in the trot course for poles and a kid I teach part time(when I cover for my coach) take a 1st in trot poles.
We then packed up and headed to another show where Ephy and I had a rather bad day(apparently the judge doesn't like it when your horse is a contender for the bronc classes at rodeos then almost run him over... hmm..) but we had some decent placings. We were DQ'd from one class and finished the others in the ribbons.
My friends kid who I help teach took a 4th in showmanship which she has never shown before nor had much training in and a 1st in her walk/trot equitation class.
All in all we had a great weekend showing our ponies. I may do one more show before I go for my carpal tunnel surgery but I am not positive if I want to yet. Ephy and I still need some work.
I am going to be writing my rider level exams and write my IOB(instructors exam) while I am off then when I get back in the saddle I will do the riding parts of my exams. So yay for having a successful and fun weekend! I am just waiting for my friend to post the pictures so I can share some. I am really hoping she got some pictures of Ephys bronc moments lol.
