Okay...that is just scary! 1/3 of the people at my work are coming down with it (I work in an O.R.). We are trying to get the vaccine into our facility, but so far, it doesn't look promising.

Ive heard about the Ferret and now i hear cats hopefully Rabbits and Guinea pigs dont come up too.

Blimey!
I hope rabbits can't get it :|

I guess its harder for rabbits to catch it from someone not in the family.. but people with cats that can go more or elss wherever.. that is scary :(

Was vaccine not made available to hospital staff where you are? My MIL is a nurse, and she was one of the first people in the area to get it, as the entire first shipment of vaccine here went to hospital staff.

H1N1 has been at my work, too, but I'm still waiting to get the vaccine. (My asthma puts me into one of the high risk groups.)

I REALLY hope this can't affect rabbits. My Nick has respiratory problems already. :( But, this news might get my husband to consider getting the vaccine, if he's worried about possibly spreading it to our furry babies.

I hope it doesn't either, iv'e got all my children i hope my chillin's stay healthy, all 26 buns and 2 horses. I don't have health insurance for myself yet- so i hope i don't get sick

We are a private surgery center, so we are still low on the list (although our patients are coming in with it!!).

The hospitals in central Ohio are just starting to get the vaccine in....it's really scary.

Wow this is really scary. I can't wait to get the vaccine. Thanks for posting this so we can all keep an eye on our pets if we get sick.

I honestly do not want to get the flu shot or the H1N1 vaccine. I just hope I don't get sick at all. I've been crazy about washing my hands & using lysol on everything, lol.

Ugh, I'm so annoyed going out into public places now with all of the flu warnings, my sister has been sick on and off for the last few months now and I certainly do not want that. But no one really cares, I'll go grocery shopping and random strangers will just walk on by me coughing and hacking without even bothering to cover their mouths. They may not be sick, I don't know, it certainly does not make me feel safe and healthy when people I do not know are coughing all over me. Or better yet, coughing into their hands then touching everything.

And people wonder why I go crazy washing my hands throughout the day. I certainly don't want my cats getting sick from this. Thankfully they're indoor cats, so they should be safe unless someone comes in with it.

The vaccine is now available here although I'm not too bothered about getting it - not that I'd be first in line anyway as I'm young and healthy! My mum works for the NHS so they are one of the first to be offered it but she doesn't want the vaccine either. I am, however, trying to convince my best friend to get it as she has kidney disease so if she caught swine flu then it could be very serious... :/

I'm not worried about myself though (or indeed my pets!) There is just no point in worrying over something we can't control. :)

Wow that is shocking. I hope my cats don't get it! And I certainly hope rabbits don't come down with it too!

I am pretty sure I had the Swine Flu a couple weeks ago. I was sick for a whole week, and it started pretty suddenly. A few of my friends were sick as well. I had all the symptoms,of a normal flu, as well as the Swine Flu obvoiously since the symptoms are the same. But one thing I did have is a headache, a mild one for a whole week which is one main symptom of Swine, and I have never had a headache with the flu before. So that is what makes me think I had swine.

I didn't go to the doctor to get tested or anything.

Another reason I think it was swine was because the last time I had the flu was five years ago and that was the stomach flu, I don't even remember the last time I actually had the flu, over four years at least.
