I don't think many of you know but I'm a petsitter, have been for almost a year. I'm currently minding a little herd of five guinea pigs, they are so adorable! There is a neuteured male and four females.

Here's some pics and a video of the cuties!

How cute! I love piggies but I don't have any. I've done some long term pet sitting for my sister's pig though and really enjoyed it. I love the noises they make, especially when they think its dinner time.:D

Oh my goodness!!!! A herd of piggies!!!! Way too cute! Are the pigs all litter-mates that they are all bonded so well?

Could you post more pics of the type of set-up they live in? I am really curious to see how much room these people provide for five pigs. It makes me wonder if the cage for my two pigs is big enough, even though they do get out for play-time every day. I understand if you don't want to post area pics because they are client pigs.

Please inform the people that their piggies might end up on my nabbing list... :biggrin2:

I'll take some pics right now, it's a really big cage, it's sort of like a run? It has no top on it or anything. If you look at the picture of all of them together, the two pigs that are nearly all grey are a male and a female and they had the two pigs on either side of the grey pig by the hidey house before the male was neteured. The other pig their owner got from a rescue. They have scuffles sometimes, but no biting or anything. Just sort of chasing out of the hidey houses if they are annoyed.

Oh and the pigs are staying at my house, I petsit in my own premises, their owner travelled two and a half hours with them :)

Well you don't really get attached to them when you know they have to go back. Plus, I'll see them again soon, this is my third time sitting them, I sit them every few months.

They look really tame. My own guinea is very shy and afraid of his own shadow.

Ya I don't know, these guinea pigs are weird, if you put in your hand they'll run away unless you have something nice for them to eat lol!

Unfortunately Rusty scoots off even if i have something nice in my hand and if I have the patience to perservere he may snatch it out of my hand and run away but he'd never dare to sniff my hand just in case...

Aw he sounds like a cutie, these little guys are totally spoilt by their owner, she even left a towel with them so they would have her scent and wouldn't be scared.

You must be a great pig-sitter if the owner will drive two and a half hours to drop them off and pick them up. It is difficult to find good people who take good care of other people's pets. There are so many horror stories out there....

Very nice enclosure for them to play!! I wish I had the room to keepmy pigs in an exercise pen set-up all of the time. Someone told me, though, that keeping pigs in huge cage/pen will actually make them less tame. I guess my guys are okay with the arrangement they have... They actually sit on their shelf waiting for me to take them out for play-time. It is so cute how they wait their turn to be taken out... :biggrin2:

Ginky Pigs!!!

(my daughter couldn't say guinea when she was little... so they are Ginky Pigs to us!)

Lol, this woman is very particular about them. She tried out another petsitter but she said that the pigs had lost a bit of weight when she got them back, so she decided to try me out, she found my website and emailed me. The first time she came she stayed for ages talking to them and giving me instructions and when she came back she picked them up and examined them to make sure they lost no weight. She must have been happy if she has come back twice since!

How cute! We used to have guinea pigs - I love their little whistles and chirps. Enjoy them!
