I cant make it FIT into the room the way I envisioned it!

..

California King sized Four-poster bed frame ONLY (no matress or box spring). Center support has been rebuilt, and bed easily will support both myself and girlfriend (each approx 300lbs) with no problems. One four-poster has water damge, and could be refinished. Moved to a new home, and this is simply too small for the bedroom and MUST GO! Can deliver if needed withing 25 miles for free.

Those were the pics on CL - I decided to give it a try and bought the bedframe.

Great, great BLAAH - I had no clue what trouble I was going to have setting it up in the room I want it in.Kind of ironic since they say it is too small for their bedroom butmine is a whole new ballpark.

First of all it's HUGE, second, I didnt remove furniture I should have before putting it together (granted, I thought I had it where I wanted and then changed my mind) and third - now that its put together I'll have to tear it apart to clear out the room because with the bed... there is simply NO room in available anymore.

And naturally, I'm now in the market for a box spring and matress which is VERY ironic since I have a twin box spring and matress I have NO frame for - which is why I was on CL in the first place today.

I haven't slept yet today since I got off work at 5:30am and I'm feeling grumpy because the room isnt going as I had wanted so I'm calling it quits for now.

When I get this all together (with the matress and bedding) I'll post pictures of the dwarfed room. :)

Leaf, sorry to hear the bed doesn't fit! How irritating that you'll have to take it apart and take things out of the room :( Maybe you should just try to re-sell it and get a twin sized frame like you originally wanted? Also, I thought the first bit you posted was really about you and your girlfriend fitting in the bed at 600 pounds total and was a little surprised :)

I'm a *little* happier right now. After a good ammount of sleep thing never look as bad as I imagine when I'm tired!

The twin bed is up here in the computer room. I bought the box spring and matress but wanted a used frame (cheaper) and I'm willing to wait until I find what I want.

The downstairs bedroom I put the king sized frame in has been a bane since I bought the house. It's held a hodgepodge of furnature and never had a home feeling to it.

I really had no intent on buying a bed for that room but when I wsaw the frame I liked it even though it'll need refinishing - it's not in bad shape, much nicer than the pictures actually showed.

I ended up having to take a couch and overstuffed chair out of there. I moved my desk, and antique bench and table to different areas and got the bedframe where I want it. Its still huge but it should work.

I thought about making the frame a rabbit run believe it or not! With some lattice and modifications it would be a nice huge play yard in good weather - but I nixed the idea. I'll try it as a bed first.

LMBO - Man I thought the bed was tall when I put it together. I hadn't put the 4 posts on and about an hour ago I went to do so.

I had put it together upside down. Now everthing is switched around and I'm even more pleased. The bed from hades looks pretty good IMO. It needs a little work but I refuse to complain further.

Lol :pI am glad it's getting there. I love wood with carvings that have an old feel to it... So love the bed posts and that antique bench sounds interesting. :biggrin2:My all-time favorite thing in a house is one of those um "Secretaire" desks? You know, the old old ones with plenty of lil doors and hiding places... :biggrin2:
