Hello! Thanks for wanting to read about Mr. Rabbit's new forever family!
I recently adopted Mr. Rabbit from our local S.P.C.A. When I went in I didnt really know much about buns, but boy, am I learning quickly! Mr. Rabbit is a two year old blue dutch with beautiful baby blues. When I got to play with Mr. Rabbit, the volunteer put him in the play room with me and he came over and sniffed me then jumped in my lap, put his head in the crook of my arm and laid there while I pet him for twenty minutes. It was amazing how quickly I fell in love with him and I adopted him a few days later after doing some research on the needs of a rabbit. When I brought him home he ran all over the house binking away and exploring, immediately used his box and after a few hours of exploring his new house and family (Myself, my boyfriend, a lab and a britney, and a cat) flopped down next to the lab completely belly sprawled and fell asleep. When it was time to put him away, I picked him up and cuddled him and set him in his pen. The whole time he didnt fight me or kick or any thing. he seemed to enjoy being held. He hopped around, dug a bit at the towels and flopped down again. I assumed this is how all rabbit acted all the time. It wasnt until I got online and was reading through many post to find out this is completely atypical for rabbit. And the fact that he immediately bonded to me and the family almost never happens. I am so blessed to have such a special bunbuns. :) Things that Mr. bunbuns enjoys are being groomed by anyone with a hand, sprawling out on the carpet, playing tag with our lab, and begging for treats (and we are all suckers and give him a taste of whatever he wants), playing hide and seek with the humans, climbing on the couch, car rides (yup, he will sit in the passangers seat and look out the window or crawl on our lap for grooming) and binking to his hearts delite. Mr. Bunbuns doesnt like being in his cage if he sees the humans out, he doesnt like carrots and he doesnt like his feet touched.
I look forward to learning about how to take care of Mr. Rabbit from all the experienced owners here and showing off pictures of my handsome boy.
Thanks!
