Google acting weird or do I have a virus?

When I click the links from search results I get crazy stuff.

the malwarebytes software was really good for me when my computer got infested.

Malwarebytes got mine ALMOST fixed. It caused enough of a lull to get Superantispyware on my desktop to finish it off. Its free too. (Make a donation!)

My virus I think it came from trying to delete a sham pop-up. I was using GoogleChrome, but it wasn't a search virus. It masquerades as an anti-virus program that it wants you to buy. Keeps flipping sites like viagra.com and gaysex.com or some such thing. Its a scam of course.

It infected every program I went to use, starting with McAfee. :grumpy: It took out my Task Manager so I couldn't even get to the processes to stop the thing. It killed off Malwarebytes as well. I had to rename it to run it -- although hitting crl alt del before the desktop loaded ultimately let me into the Task Manager long enough to delete the process and give me time to run the two malware programs.

Certainly wasn't happy with McAfee. It didn't stop it and if you want them to help fix it, they want $89 on TOP of the subscription I was already paying for. :X

AVAST here I come.

My "computer guy" told me to get rid of McAfee and to use AVG and Malwarebytes. McAfee didn't stop my pc from getting massively infected.

I hadn't heard of Malwarebytes, but I'll be trying it, too.

Still infected after many scans with many different free software. Will have to redo whole process with each scan taking several hours. It's a tough one.
