Hello All,

I'm having trouble getting a couple of my does to breed. My one doe bred no problem. However, my 2 other does do not want to breed. They are not resistant to my male mounting them, but they are not laying down for him. I really want at least one other doe to be bred so that my first doe that is probably bred won't be the only one in case I need to foster kits. Any suggestions would be very helpful!

never bred, nor owned female rabbits so i'm not the best person to be answering but i THINK i've read somewhere around the internet that a few drops of apple cider vinegar in their water can help?

You can use little tricks like apple cider vinegar in the water bottle. Try patience. Place the does to a cage next to the buck and then stick them in the cage every day for a couple days. It always works for me on the third day. It also depends on what time of day it is. Early in the morning or right at dusk. You can also check her genitalia, if it's a deep purplish-red she's ready to be bred

When one of my "virgin" cali's wouldnt breed, the owner of the buck tied a ribbon to her tail and "lifted" her tail while the buck was mounted on her. Were expecting her first litter tomorrow. =) good luck.

Never heard of that one

I have and thats what were going to try for my friends new zealands! lol My friend also did it with one of his more agressive dutch does and he said the buck got her three times.

My californian breeder says watch full moons. My friend and I checked a does vulva and it was a light pink the night of the full moon and a day later we checked again and it was deep red.

Well when I have a rabbit that wont breed i put her in the cage with the buck and hold her with her butt in the air and arm out of the bucks way and when he mounts her I just rase her and then he does his buisness......Toby
