My dad is having some really intense oral surgery today, we are all pretty worried considering how delicate it could have to be. If you have a spare moment please send good thoughts/prayers his way.

I'm sorry I didn't see this earlier, Katie. I'm glad he's doing well tonight. What did he have done?

Let's see he had two of his wisdom teeth removed and we were worried that the top one would have pierced his sinuses (which he already has problems with) which would have been bad, but that was all ok. He also had a tooth removed that he had a root canal on when he was younger (welfare doctor) and the dentist had broken the tip off of a metal file and left it in there. So that and the tooth was removed because it was abcessed. Underneath one of the teeth (bottom wisdom tooth I think) the had to use some bone graft to rebuild his ridge - just to give you some idea on that one they have two sizes of bone material they use, large and small. They had to use two large ones to fill him up. I think that's all, I was just in charge of helping my mom get him home so I'm not sure about everything they did.

I'll give him a hug and ice cream. The first thing he asked when he got home was if we had any icecream

My gosh, the doctor broke the tip off a file and LEFT it there?! Did the doctor tell him when he woke up, or did a different dentist find it later? That is terrible :X I'm glad your dad's surgery is over, no more worrying about how it's going to go. Now all he has to do is heal! If he doesn't want to live off of ice cream, try mashed potatoes too :biggrin2:
