Okay so first off i'd like to say hello to everyone! I've been looking for a cage online but can't seem to pick one! I have one male rex rabbit that i want to find a reasonable priced cage around 100$ or under. It does not have to be wire mesh but i would like it to be easy to clean.
-If anyone could post pics, give websites, or links, that would e wonderful!! Thanks!-

Hello Ashley. :) There's a section in the housing part of the forum. You can make a cage for him out of storage cubes. You just hook the cubes together using wire ties. My bun isn't litter trained yet (he just turned 9 weeks old), so I've adapted my old rattie condo for him. You can get a BIG rubbermaid container for the bottom, so there's no accidents, and to make it easier to clean. Basically the container I use sits on an old metal dog crate pan, then the cage drops down over top of it all. The cage is heavy enough nothing can tip it over (dogs, cats, or animal inside) but not so heavy you can't lift it.

You can add shelves, ramps, and hidey-hole areas, too. Here's a link of one someone's been making and selling on Ebay. Obviously this one is made for a litter trained bun, but could easily be adapted to one that's not quite there yet.

Best way to have an easy to clean pen is to litter train your rabbit :D Its actually usually pretty easy, you just set up a litter box, make sure there isn't bedding/shavings anywhere else in the pen, and then put hay in the box. If they poo in another area, move the litter box or add another.

I use xpens, they give the bunny enough in-pen space and are cheap, about 40-50 bucks.

Store bought cages are too small for rabbits :)

What do you make the shelf out of? And how do you secure it to the dog crate? I have a LOT of these laying around, and never thought about using one for Max (still working on modifying my rattie condo into a bunny bungalow.

Just go to the hardware store and grab some plywood or wide boards, and attatch brackets of some sort to them, you can get simple L brackets, attatch 1 half to the shelf and the other half can be bent to make a hook to latch onto the kennel. I would probably go with shelves that are at least 12" wide if not wider :)
