Oh, yes, human James likes bunnyJames. I actually woke up yesterday and found James on thephone with the shelter asking if we needed an appointment to bringMocha in. He suddenly remembered that bunny James has been onthe list for at least as long as we've had Mocha, which is about 3months. He's worried because he doesn't know how much timethis shelter gives rabbits to find a home before, well you know.

I will definately give you guys an update tonight. If shedoesn't like these guys, there is another nearby shelter with severalcute bunnies...

Basicly I'm sure I can find somebun she likes if I spend enough time at it.

We'll be bringing our new bunny, currently namedRascal, home on Monday! He's a one year old dutch. He was actually the only male there at the time, but he and Mocha seemto get along pretty well. I was a little miffed that the vastmajority of rabbits they have on petfinder are no longer there-someone's been slacking on updating that.

Rascal seems pretty laid back. He never seemed to threatenMocha and was curious about all of us, checking out me, James, theshelter worker, and Mocha. My poor bunny wouldn't come out ofher carrier. There were a couple of people checking out thedogs in the next room over, and they were barking almostconstantly. She's never really heard a dog barkbefore. But she was sniffing Rascal whenever he came by herand didn't seem defensive or aggressive with him. Sheactually let him come into her carrier with her. I pulled himout before he got all the way in. I didn't want them fightingin there where she would be cornered. He seemed to likeattention and petting and was okay with being picked up. He'smore used to being picked up by the scruff of the neck, and shied alittled bit when James tried to pick him up the "right" way. We'll have to work on that.

So now I'm on the market for a cage. I'm shopping aroundsince I have the time, but so far I like a 42 inch dog kennel atPetsmart. I might do NIC, but I'm not sure if I'm up to thatmuch construction at the moment.

I'm so excited for you and so happy. All of my bunnies arepurebred - but only because we don't have a shelter within 150 milesthat takes rabbits - and trying to adopt from 150 miles away was toughbecause sometimes they wanted to do a house visit, etc.

However, I think its great when people can get bunnies fromshelters. I'm so happy for you. Let's hope "Rascal"isn't too rascally (like my Puck is)...

Oh, and I forgot to mention before...

Rascal needs a new name! I probably won't be able to decideuntil he gets home. I always need to look at the animal andask him "Is your name Rascal? No? Ok, lets tryanother one!" I would really appreciate suggestions, though. I'll probably have to make a list and see which onesJames likes, too. It IS partly his bunny, after all!

Congrats on Rascal. Can't wait for pics.

I did not change my rabbits name when I got her, but on of the reasonsfor this was that she was already treated as a pet and spent a lot ofher 'run' time in side the house almost as a pet. The otherreason.

I did think that if she had a chance of learning her name that I wouldnot want to change it now. I still don't think she knows hername though. She probably knows "in the house" and "got toyour room" better!
