Now that we have BB all healthy and thriving, we want to take him to meet my son's grandma. We're leaving in a few weeks. it's a 6 hour drive and we will be there for 4 days. I've been looking around for a cage to take BB in. My son will be able to put the cage on the floor of the van right beside his seat. BB will also have to stay in the cage the four days we are at grandmas. She won't let him run around her house.

Does anyone have any suggestions, warnings, etc.?

How about a large dog carrier? I was working atgarage sale yesterday that had one that was so huge i almost bought it but then deciced not to. Now i think Iam sorry i didn't buy it. It would have made a great house for one of my bunnies. You could put a shelf in it too it was that big.

I just took my bunny on a 5 hour trip to my mother in law's house this weekend. For the car ride, he has a small carrier (what you would get for a cat) that he also uses to get to the vet. He's able to stretch out in it, but it's small enough that it doesn't take up much room. For a cage, we brought a puppy xpen and a vinyl mat to put under it (xpens are great because they can fold flat in the car). We set up the pen as his nice large cage while we were there (4'x4', much larger than any cage we could fit in our car), and gave him his carrier to use as a hidey house. Worked great!
