As I was cleaning up and feeding the buns Gizz stretched out and lay down shut his eyes and he started to jerk his body as if he was having a sneezing fit but there was no sneezing, it almost looked like hiccups. Do rabbits even get hiccups? or is it something else, has anyone seen what I am describing?? and should I be worried or take him in to the vet?:?:?

Is is possible he was asleep?

Benji will jerk in his sleep, and his little whiskers will go and his eyes will flutter, and it really worried me the first time I saw it! But then I realised he must be dreaming. And now I find it adorable lol.

No, I have seen him do the stuff you are describing while sleeping and he wasn't doing that. It was more a couple of jerking motions with his head and whole body like a sneeze.

I don't mean to scare you, but do you think it could be a seizure? :?

I've never seen them in a bunny before, but I've heard that some breeds are more prone to epilepsy than others.

I'm not really sure because it was very random and I've seen him do it before but then he is fine and functions as he normally does. It seemed more like a few hiccups, I have researched rabbit hiccup and have found videos of rabbits doing the same thing.

with a seizure the bunny will throw itself on its side kinda like a "bunny flop" but will be jerking. you would know the difference

Kimiko did the same. Not so often but I saw it couple times. She did like your Gizz, like she got hiccup. :S It last for few seconds, then she stopped. Everything looks normal, her behavior is the same. I think maybe they really can get hiccup. :confused2:
