Hi my bunny gave birth to six babies on Sunday.I can't tell if they are being fed or not. I have read that the onesthat are fed will have rounded bellies. They all seem to haveshrivelled skin apart from one of them who seems slightly larger thanthe others, and seems to have a rounded belly. Does this mean that heis a giant and is taking everyones feed. Is it true that giants diesooner or later so they should be removed otherwise the rest of thelitter can die too?

Is a giant considered to be a deformed rabbit. What are the other possible deformities in babies?

Thank you Amy!

I was wondering if perhaps the others may be "peanuts" and the "giant" may just be a normal sized kit.

Whenever our Hollands have had fetal giants, they have always been borndead. Size in a litter can vary quite a bit, but we've neverhad a problem with a larger one hogging all the nipples.

Sometimes a doe will separate unhealthy kits from the others.

Photos would help determine if the smaller ones are actuallylethal double dwarfs.

Hey thanks for replying Pam. I will post photos in the morning. Hopefully that will clarify the situation.

Thanks

All five of my kits were born about the samesize and shape, only differing in color, now, a month or so later, they're still all the same size and shape. Hopefully they're notpeanuts and all works out.
