Genetics question

My cousin next door has some really cute little dutch and one little broken lynx mini rex doe. I know that's a color that is desireable, and would like to know what he could breed her to in order to get more lynx/broken lynx or other favorable colors?

Someone gave her to them and I was so surprised.... she's tiny but not out of the range she needs to be. She has good teeth, coat, and her pattern is nearly perfect.

He wants to breed her so I told him we should try and find a quality buck.

I'm in love with her LOL!

Lynx would be the first choice. The rabbits would have to carry dilute and chocolate in order to get lynx in the first generation. My friend raises lynx and she uses castors, opals, lilacs and chocolate agoutis in her lynx. He may not get lynx in the first generation using anything but lynx though.

There is a great deal of controversy over the lynx variety. Lots of them are not really lynx but lilac fawn. There is also alot of controversy about them changing the standard for them. The Jan/Feb issue of the mini rex newsletter.

I read something about that online - the lilac fawn thing.

I'll try to get photos. The cousin's wife is supposed to email me a pic she took of the hair... we blew on it to show the pattern of the circles....

I told them it's got to be lynx/lilac something..... she's not orange enough to be broken orange and she has that creamy gray color on the tipping of the spots... it's so faint you can hardly see it until you see her in the light.

She's just as cute as can be, got a pretty little face, markings are good and even - not too many.... Cute little bunner dewlap.......

I want to try to get them a buck that will be good to breed to her.... They know I'm looking.
