LastSaturday we took the rabbits to the vet. I left it to thelast minute to try and get the rabbits in their cat boxes only becausethey are good as gold normally and just hop in. I had 30minutes to get to the vet Hetti hopped in happily but jack wouldn’tbudge. With 15mins to spare I had to think sod it grab jackand put him in the box. Jack kicked me in the neck andscratched up my arms but we got to the vet and they had theirVHD injections.

I know I should have leftmore time and shouldn’t have picked him up and have no right to reallyhave his trust but…

Since Saturday Jack doesn’tlet me stroke him anymore and he is really jumpy is there a way that Ican earn back his trust? At the moment they only come to mefor treats and even then he is sluggish.

In addition to this we haveto go back the vets again in a week any hints and tips on how I shouldhandle this other than leaving plenty of time?

Whoa!:shock:That bunny must hold a grudge! I've grabbed Sebastiana million times to do stuff that he probably didn't wantdone...haircuts comes tomind... Nail trims, brushing, I had to force feedhim for a week when he had GI stasis, but he never has reactedgrudgingly.

This is just a wandering thought but, what if you wrapped him in a towel (very loosely) first nexttimebecause most animals calm down if they can't see. Thenput him in the kennel. Once he's inside he will wiggle free but hewon't freak out so much and perhaps won't have such an anxiety attachabout getting into the kennel to begin with.

Just an idea.

Valuran is much the same way. He has a looong memory when it comes to being handled in a way he doesn't like.

All you can do it prettymuch let him get over it on his own.It helps to up the treats a bit (not too much of course), lay on thefloor byhim to let him come to you, and so on. Valuran lovesit when I play with him with cardboard, he rips it out of my hand, tosses it around, and we do that for a while.

yeah i suppose it just takes time:(just sad when there not happy with u... i swear i came offworse though.

Will try the towel trick next time i just wish there was an instantfix. Hetti is wary of me as it is without my fave rabbithating me :(

yup that would grudge me a bit too lol :D

We've had our spayed doe, Brindle, for over ayear now. She has always be the sweetest, most easy-going bunnie. Aregular little "therapy bunnie" for us. Never bites, always lets youpick her up, and loves to be loved.

Well, the last two days I have been nipped when I try to pet her. Shenipped my shoulder when I finally managed to catch her and pick her up.And she runs away only to give me the "butt".

Whatdidido????

All I did was give her the first dose of Nutri-Cal she ever had. Ithink I upset her by applying it to her paws so she would have to lickit off. Heaven forbid I should get her a bit messy! And Brindle doesnot think that Nutri-Cal is as "palatable" as claimed. I got thedirtiest look after she first tasted it!! She cleaned herself up (withlots of paw shaking) and then promply munched on timothy hay for aboutan hour...probably trying to get the taste out of her mouth!!

Last night she finally let me rub her nose for a few minutes and then proceeded to hop away and give me the butt.

Talk about holding a grudge!!

YOUR bunnies???

Your bunnies are the most spoiled bunnieson the forum! They have their own room, songs sung to them, bananasevery day, kisses on the noses....AND THEY HOLD GRUDGES??? Ungratefullittle beasts!

Sound like teenagers to me!:X
