If I flip Peaches on his back and he stays that way, his pupils get very small - it's quite scary - he has pink eyes to boot. Do the eyes of all bunnies do this when they're on their back tranced? And why?

I've never seen that happen and I don't have pink eye bunnies but I would imagine that if their pupils dilate when they are on high alert and are scared, small pupils could mean they are relaxed and in a sleepy state, which is sort of what trancing does. It's just a guess though.

:yeahthat:

It's a normal reaction of the parasympathetic nervous system when in a relaxed state. The heart rate decreases, pupils contract, and digestion is stimulated.

Thanks everyone, it's really freaky on the pink eyed bunny - I had to check for nose twitching, I thought he had died - it was very freakish!
