and I'm getting excited! According to my calculations (and that of Rabbit Register. lol), I need to put the nest box in on Friday and the babies should be here by Monday.

I have NO clue how to palpate, and I have severe CTS so have minimal feeling in my fingers, so didn't try. But she's definitely getting a big belly. And she's been spending a lot of time just laying down, munching some hay, then flopping back down.

This is the lynx doe (from "what color is she" thread) and a broken lilac buck. While I'd love a litter of super cute babies, right now I'll just be happy with healthy, live ones. Although I hope not all of them get hit with the broken pattern.

Anything special I should be doing for her? I plan on sleeping in the barn when she's due, just in case (used to do it all the time, with mares). Next year I'll have a webcam set up in the rabbitry and I can watch from the house.

YAY! Good luck!! Post many pictures :) I just had another litter of tans this morning. Three cute little chocolates Congrats

I am absolutely so jealous. lol Wishing your doe all the best with her pending delivery. Can't wait to see what you get in the nest box and hoping all babies are nice and healthy.

Woahlookitsme, Congratulations on your new tan kits. Hope Mom and babies are doing well.

BTW, PLEASE, OH PLEASE, both of you, post baby pics.

Just really thrilled for both of you.

K :)

Oh, K, I am sooooo excited!! And nervous. A lot of nervous. LOL I just hope she doesn't have trouble, and I get healthy kits. Now I have to figure out what to use for a nesting box, because the biggest ones I could buy barely give her room to lie down in. I'm thinking a deep tuperware type container...

The deep tupperware container sounds just fine. Give her enough room, as you said, for her to stretch out comfortably to take care of her kits.

This is her first litter right? No wonder you would be nervous. You never know with first time moms. Hoping she does well for you and the kits are healthy. That's all we really want. I know some think it's just the coloring but having healthy solid kits, is also what we want to show.

So Friday you plan to put the nest box in. So possibly by Sunday?

Really excited for you. Please keep us posted.

Sending LOTS of Good Karma your way. Got my fingers and toes crossed and will be thinking of both of you this weekend.

K:)

It's not just her first litter, it's mine, too. *bites fingernails*

Friday it said to put the nest box in...and I just double-checked and you're right! The babies should be here Sunday, not Monday. It's a good thing you said something. I guess I start sleeping in the barn on Saturday night. LOL

:cry2 I wish I could sleep in a barn and watch a bunny give birth to little cuties...

but that's fine... i don't need an invite... i'll just be
over here... waiting... and waiting... for photos...

:p CONGRATS! and hope you don't overload and explode with your excitement lol. hope they're all healthy

Well, it would be quite a trip, but you're more than welcome to camp out with me. LOL I might have hubby hook the camper up and take it right outside the barn doors, then I'll have heat. haha

Thanks, and you can bet ya'll will be flooded with baby pictures. I'm gonna be a grammy. haha

If only I had the money... The trip would be well worth the experience :)

I don't think I know what a camper is lol... sounds like a camper van when i think of something :D

Has she made a nest?
